about David Pearce
back

This is the first time Badcocks has shown the work of David Pearce. David is a self-taught painter who lives and works on the North Cornish coast close to Padstow, where he was born in 1963. He considers himself a natural born painter, fortunate to have grown up in Cornwall and so near to those he sites as his influences; Hilton, Heron and Wallis.

There is a naïve quality to his work that gives it a unique and distinctive spirit. Concentrating on spontaneity, he strips away the traditional composition and paints with a child's unrestricted and uncomplicated vision, leaving the bare essence of painting.

David has exhibited over the last 10years nationally and internationally with his work in collections in America and Europe. He is represented by The Cadogan Gallery, London and his work can also be seen at Lemon Street Gallery, Truro.
