This is the first exhibition by Neil Pinkett at Badcocks. We are not known for showing landscape painters and we hope that those of you unfamiliar with his work will appreciate the qualities that have earned him international acclaim.

His grasp of the breathtaking rawness of this rugged part of Cornwall is unparalleled and strongly fuelled by his close affinity to it. His ability to convey all its vitality and its ever changing moods is self evident from the power and energy of these paintings. But, there is a stillness amongst this body of paintings which is new in Neil’s work. Still lifes of mugs and bottles are depicted with Neil’s familiar bold brush strokes, but they sit serenely within the painting, gently occupying the space, making no demands upon the viewer other than to appreciate the beauty of such a simple object and see it anew.
